This feature has also been reported to cause accounts claiming to be from overseas expatriates to appear as if they are connecting from Japan, leading to suspicions of "fake expatriates."
On the other hand, there are cases where the display shows Japan even though you are actually connecting from overseas.

The cause is said to be the VPN exit node and carrier line specifications, but details have not been released by X.

Additionally, the app version may be affected by the region settings of the Apple Store or Google Play.
For example, if you're using an official X app installed from the Japanese App Store, the connection information may say "Installed from the Japanese App Store."

On the other hand, the web version is determined solely by IP address, regardless of store information.
